DAY 47
STORY #47
The Wobbly Mustang
Nan was an ordinary ranch girl. She worked hard from “can see to can’t see.” She loved her scrubby little albino mustang, Windrunner. Bart Collinson came to town one day, riding a handsome black thoroughbred, bragging how he’d outrace anything with four legs.
He saw Nan’s skinny, cow-hocked horse, and laughed. Nan responded by leaping bareback onto Windrunner, and challenging Bart to a race. Townspeople lined up to see it--the race a mile around the town--ending up in the livery corral--with Nan ahead. Bart left town a dejected man--beaten by a girl on a wobbly mustang
